I stood there holding that card like it was both a benediction and a dare.
A holy whisper and a solid slap on the back.
A confirmation that maybe — just maybe — I’m doing something that matters.

Because let’s be real: sometimes this work?

It’s messy. It’s spreadsheet-soggy and email-exhausted and full of loose ends that no one wants to tie. It’s listening to someone talk about their overdue taxes with the same panic most people reserve for house fires. It’s taking late-night phone calls about payroll nightmares, unpaid bills, and the deep ache of “How did I get here?”

And then, out of nowhere — someone brings you a card like this.

And you remember that you’re not just cleaning up QuickBooks or helping people untangle legal knots or building businesses out of barely-there hope.

You’re showing up. You’re being present in someone else’s chaos without flinching.
You’re holding space long enough for them to believe that maybe — maybe — they’re not going to drown.

I don’t know what this week holds.
